"Don't Insist on English" by Patricia Ryan

Patricia
Ryan talks about language and the globalization of English. She said a language
dies every 14 days but English is the undisputed global language at the same
time. She and around 25 other teacher taught English in Kuwait, the government
ask them to teach English in there because the government want to modernize the
country and empower the citizens through education. She also tell that English
is not always a must in getting the opportunity for a better life because there
is a case of intelligentsia person like Einstein who didn’t have to have a test
such as TOEFL test that nowadays all studentstake the test. In short, mind your
language and spread great ideas. So, don’t insist on English.
